Designer Martin Margiela founded his brand in 1988 together with his friend Jenny Meirens, designer as well. They launched a design label Maison Martin Margiela, opened the first store in Paris and started a path of this phenomenal fashion brand. Tommy Hilfiger, though he was very concerned about his difficult name to name a brand by it, in 1984 launched his first collection supported by Indian textile magnate Mohan Murjani, who believed in designers’ work and name.

Giambattista Valli supported his younger sister to launch a successful Giamba brand.
